The SOCIOLGY 350, Contemporary Japanese Society course helps expand the international/comparative offerings of the college and fits with the growing comparative emphasis within the department.  The SOCIOLGY 379, Women and Crime course compliments existing offerings that provide intellectually current courses that enhance career-oriented development.

III.  Rationale
The SOCIOLGY 350, Contemporary Japanese Society course broadens student options and enhances the global-comparative emphasis of the department.  The SOCIOLGY 379, Women and Crime course enhances coverage of gender issues, crime, and criminal justice.
