I. Exact description of request
Electronic Media majors may select EITHER 166-236 Introduction to Cinema (3) OR 166-339 History of Cinema (3) to count toward their six (6) credits of General Electronic and Mass Media Courses in the major. Currently both three-credit courses may satisfy this six-credit general electronic and mass media requirement.
II. Relationship to mission and strategic plan of institution, and/or College/Department goals and objectives
Strategic Priority 2: UW-Whitewater will deliver state of the art programs and services.
Students will be exposed to a broader range of media to better prepare them for the challenges of their professional careers.
III. Rationale
This change will insure that students will be exposed to more than one mass media area. It will also help to increase enrollments in other upper level courses in this Mass Media sequence.
IV. Cost implications
None
