Categorize Government and Politics of China (820-472) as a Category II(B)(Regional Emphasis: East Asia and South Asia) within the International Studies minor. This new course was adopted by the Letters & Sciences Curriculum Committee on Sept. 21, 2000.
II. Relationship to mission and strategic plan of institution, and/or College/Department goals and objectives

                    No change from previously approved "new course proposal."

III. Rationale

Besides the required courses in the minor, students must take 9 credits of courses with a regional emphasis. This action is necessary to designate the regional category appropriate for the course.
