Richard Telfer called the meeting to order at 2:16 p.m.
Sally Vogl-Bauer moved approval of the April 6, 2001 agenda. Glenn Hayes seconded the motion, and the motion carried.
Glenn Hayes moved, and Larry Schuetz seconded, to approve the March 16, 2001 minutes. The motion carried.
Dick Telfer announced that the subcommittee met regarding web based
special courses. A proposal for suggested guidelines will be prepared
for the next UCC meeting.
The Communicative Disorders Department's proposals for changes in the Communicative Disorders (BA/BS) and the Communicative Disorders (BSE) were approved on an Alvaro Taveira/Glenn Hayes motion.
Frank Steckel moved, and Glenn Hayes seconded, the approval of the proposal
for a new submajor from the Physics Department, Physics Major - Engineering
Emphasis. Dick Telfer spoke to the committee regarding the Physics
Department's Audit and Review self-studies report which is several years
late. Without such information, there is no way of knowing whether
the department has the resources to offer a new submajor. Tom Colwin
then moved to table the Physics Department's proposal. Marilyn Lavin
seconded the motion. The motion carried with one no vote, and one
abstention recorded.
