Merit - Faculty

Merit reviews are conducted on a biennial cycle during the fall term of odd numbered years. The next scheduled merit review will take place during the fall of 2007.  The review will consider faculty activities from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2007, and will establish a merit rating for the two-year period, July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010.

New faculty recruited during an evaluation year for existing faculty. New faculty receive their negotiated salary in their first year of employment. In their second year of employment they will automatically receive merit pay based on a solid performance rating and average merit. New faculty will receive their first regular two-year-cycle merit review in the fall of their second year of employment. This merit review will be based only on performance data from the faculty member's first year of employment at UW-Whitewater. Merit based on the evaluation in the second year of employment will be distributed in the third and fourth year of employment. All subsequent reviews will follow the model for existing faculty.

New faculty recruited during a non-evaluation year for existing faculty. New faculty receive their negotiated salary in their first year of employment. In their second and third year of employment they will automatically receive merit pay based on a solid performance rating and average merit. New faculty will receive their first regular two-year-cycle merit review in the fall of their third year of employment and that review and all subsequent reviews will follow the model for existing faculty.
