At its meeting on Thursday, September 3, 2009, the Letters & Sciences Curriculum Committee approved the proposals listed below.  These proposals are being forwarded to the UCC for its action or information.   The signature pages will be forwarded to you Monday.

  1. Languages & Literatures_ Race & Ethnic Studies
    1. Course revision for CHICANO_ENGLISH 200 "Chicano Literature: Historical Content and Contemporary Text."
    2. R/R Title change for CHICANO_ENGLISH 200 FROM "Chicano Literature: Historical Content and Contemporary Text." TO "Chican@ Literature to 1980.
    3. Course revision for CHICANO_ENGLISH 201 "Contemporary Chicano Literature."
  2. History -  Proposal revisions for some or all of the proposals below will be forthcoming
    1. Change in the History BA_BS Major

    2. Deletion of the International Studies Major Without Emphases
  5. Biological Sciences
    1. The two proposals bellow are corrected versions of the proposals submitted to the April 17th  UCC meeting.  The correct versions were approved by both the College of Education and the College of L&S.  An earlier version with incorrect licensure requirements was inadvertently sent forward.
      1. Change in the Biology-Cell/Physiology BSE
      2. Change in the Biology-Ecology/Field Biology BSE

    1. Asian Studies Minor
    2. Add the 498 R to the following  Biology majors:

    3. Title change for HISTRY 493 FROM  "Applied Histoiry" TO "Public History Internship."
    4. Repeatability change for the following Psychology courses:
      1. PSYCH 498 Independent Study
      2. PSYCH 498-R  Undergraduate Research
    5. Delete the Psychology BSE submajor Social Studies - Broadfield Psychology II Emphasis.  Please hold until issues with the College of Education have been resolved.
    6. Delete the following Sociology courses:
      1. SOCIOLGY 475
      2. SOCIOLGY 555
