Sociology, Anthropology and
Criminal Justice
New Course ASIANST 493,
"Internship in Japanese Culture." (This
course offers students a practical,
hands-on field learning experience through immersion in a Japanese
cultural
setting.Students will be assigned to a
non-profit
organization, company or governmental agency in Japan or one that is
Japanese-intensive work setting outside of Japan. Students will learn
about Japanese culture through
active personal engagement and the daily experience of working under
the
direction of a Japanese organization).
Biological
Sciences
Change in the Biology Minor. (We
are simply increasing the number of credits to reflect the increase in
credit
for Biology 141 and 142 from four credits to five credits each. We are
also
more clearly specifying those courses which do not count toward the
minor).
Change in the
Pre-professional
Program - Dentistry Emphasis. (This
proposal represents a combination of updating and clarifying
requirements in
this non-degree program. We have added non-science requirements,
specified
exact course numbers where possible, and listed courses (such as
Biology 141
and Math 152) that are not specifically required for Marquette Dental
school,
but are prerequisites of courses that are required for dental school).

in the Pre-professional Program -
Veterinary Medicine. (This
proposal represents a combination of updating and clarifying
requirements in
this non-degree program. We have added non-science requirements,
specified
exact course numbers where possible, and listed courses (such as Math
152 and
Chem 252) that are not specifically required for UW-Madison veterinary
school,
but are prerequisites of courses that are required for the vet school).
