College of Letters and Sciences

Meeting of February 22,  2007

    PRESENT:  Ellen Davis, Peter Hoff ( rep.Pilar Melero), Jennifer Thibodeaux, Jerre Collins, Jon Kane, David Cartwright,  Jolly Emrey, Elizabeth Olson, Paul Adogamhe, Richard Salem, Ellie Schemenauer, Debra Heiber, and Elizabeth Hachten, Chair.

    1. The minutes of the January 25, 2007 meeting were approved at written on a Kane/Schemenauer motion.
    2. Announcements: 
      1. The Chair reminded everyone that the deadline for new course proposals for Spring 2008 is the March 22, 2007 meeting.  Proposals would normally be due to the secretary on Wednesday, March 14, 2007.  However,  since the secretary is on vacation that week  the deadline has been extended to 10:00 AM Monday, March 19, 2007.  The agenda will be published that afternoon.
    3. Old Business:   Salem/Kane moved to bring the Asian Studies Minor  off the table.  The concerns raised at the January 25th meeting were addressed .  The motion passed unanimously
    4. Salem/Davis moved to approve crosslisting  SOCIOLOGY 350 "Contemporary Japanese Society" with Anthropology.  The motion passed unanimously.
    5. Kane/Emrey moved to accept and record the following information item:
      1. Change in the Recreation Leisure Studies - L & S Minor.     The motion passed unanimously.
    6. The meeting adjourned on a Adogamhe/Olson motion.
