The Committee will meet THURSDAY, September 7,  2006
at 2:15 PM in Salisbury 102

  1. Approval of the 2006-07 Curriculum Committee Guidelines
  2. Election of a representative on the College Budget and Planning Committee
  3. Announcements
  4. Mathematics & Computer Science
    1. New minor, "Actuarial Mathematics Minor." (There are about ten students each year who graduate in the MATH/STAT track of the mathematics major.  The majority of these students are considering careers as actuaries, and these students are all being advised to take as many of the courses proposed for this minor as they can fit into their schedules.  Certainly, several of these students each year would elect this minor program since it would allow them to complete a minor while pursuing the education being recommended to them.  It would allow them to get all the recommended courses rather than just a couple which they can fit into their schedule).
  5. Information Items
    1. Other Curricular Action:  Add university requirements to Political Science Pre-Law AR.  (While some pre-professional programs are designed for students who will transfer to other institutions to complete their degree, the pre-law pre-professional program enrolls new students who are interested in a pre-law curriculum.  These students plan on completing a degree at UWW by selecting a related major.  The way the AR reads now, it suggests that these students have no requirements.  It is very confusing for students and advisors).
