    1. Actuarial Mathematics Minor tabled at the September 7th meeting.
  5. Political Science
    1. New Course: POLISCI 240 "Law and Society."  (The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the development of law and legal practices from a political science perspective.  Special emphasis will be paid to the political factors in our society that shape law.  The manner in which law affects the politics of our society will also be stressed).
    2. New Course:  POLISCI 147 "World Affairs Seminar." (This course was designed to meet a specific goal:  To offer college level credit to interested students participating in the World Affairs Seminar each summer at UW-Whitewater.  It will only be offered in the summer for this targeted group of students.  It  is a Topics Course and, as such, the theme of the course will change each Summer.  Nonetheless, students will engage a similar level and amount of material and will be asked to do comparable work and projects).
  6. Sociology
    1. New Course:  SOCIOLGY 373 "Sociology of Terrorism."  (This course examines terrorism as a weapon of power, a forensic issue, and a social phenomenon.  Types of Terror, types of groups and governments involved in terror, and the people who become terrorists will be examined.  Theories of political policy, group dynamics and individual predilections will be evaluated so that terrorism can be understood and combated).
  7. Geography and Geology
    1. Description change, title change for and add general education GS to GEOGRPY 364 FROM "Geography of Asia" TO "Geography of East Asia." (The new description and title more accurately describe the area of Asia studied in the course).
    2. New Course:  GEOGRPY 361 "Geography of South and Southeast Asia."  (This course studies contemporary and historical interrelationships between the natural environment and the economic, political and cultural activities in South and Southeast Asia.  Countries studied include: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines).
