  6. Mathematics and Computer Science
    1. New Course MATH 449 "Actuarial Examination Preparation."  (Designed for students preparing to take either the first (probability) or second (interest theory) actuarial examination, the course will review the mathematics required for the examination and bring the student through a series of exercises design to give them the required training to pass their examination).
  7. Sociology, Anthropology & Criminal Justice
    1. New Course SOCIOLGY 342/542 "Sociology of Family and Work." (This course reviews the relationship between the social institutions of family and workplace.  It examines how they interact with each other, and how key social factors such as gender, class, job type and culture affect that  interaction).
  8. Informational Items
    1. Change in the Actuarial Mathematics Minor.  (Removes the requirement of FNBSLW 344 and replaces it with the requirement FNBSLW 446.  Adds ACCOUNT 341 to the list of elective Accounting courses).
    2. Change in the Integrated Science Business Major.  (Adds ITBE 280 to the Integrated Science-Business Major (BS degree) requirements.  Clarifies the science requirement for the Integrated Science-Business Major (BS degree) and updates the catalog listing to reflect changes made in the introductory level Physics courses).
    3. Description change and title change for SOCIOLGY 372  FROM  "White-Collar Crime" TO "White-Collar Crime: Corporate and Governmental Deviance."  (Title and description change are more consistent with the way the course is currently taught).
    4. Requisite change for SOCWORK 371 "Social Work Practice I."  (Adds the phrase "Combined cumulative" to the GPA requirement in the requisite and adds "or consent of Department" to the requisite).
    5. Requisite change for the following Social Work courses:
      1. SOCWORK 372 "Social Work Practice II"
      2. SOCWORK 473/673 "Social Work Practice III"
      3. SOCWORK 493 "Social Work Experience"
(Adds the phrase "Combined cumulative" to the GPA requirement in the requisite).
  1. Deletion of the following BSE  General Science Broadfield Majors:
    1. General Science-Broadfield Biology Emphasis
    2. General Science-Broadfield Chemistry Emphasis
    3. General Science Broadfield Major
    4. General Science-Broadfield Physics Emphasis
    5. General Science-Broadfield Earth Science Emphasis
    6. General Science-Broadfield Physical Science Emphasis
(The Curriculum and Instruction Dept. has requested these deletions because these majors no longer adequately prepare students to teach in a specific field of science at the high school level.  This decreases the flexibility some school districts have in assigning their science teachers.  Also a student taking one of these majors is not prepared to go on to graduate school should they wish to do so in the future).
  1. Changes to the Women's Studies Major and the Women's Studies Minor. (Deletes courses from the major and minor, adds new courses  and generally updates the major and minor to reflect actual course offerings).
