      1. Title change for HISTRY 342 FROM Early Latin America to 1860 TO Conquest and Colonialism in Latin America
(The new title is more descriptive and better reflects the emphases of the course while still in accord with the course description).
    1. Number change and requisite change for the History course, "Twentieth-century Europe" FROM HISTRY 460 TO 377.
<>(The 400-level designation within the department usually is reserved for seminar courses on narrowly focused topics.  This course is a broad survey, is conducted in a lecture format, and aimed at sophomores, juniors and seniors).
  1. Title change, number change, and requisite change for the following History courses.  
    1. FROM HISTRY 432 "Banditry, Rebellion and Revolution in Modern China" TO  HISTRY 385 "Modern China".
    2. FROM HISTRY 433 "Twentieth Century Japan"  TO HISTRY 386 "Modern Japan".
(The 400-level designation within the department is usually reserved for seminar courses on narrowly focused topics.  This course has always been out-of-place as a 400-level course since it is a broad survey presented in a lecture/discussion format, and aimed at sophomores, juniors, and seniors.   The title and description changes are necessary to more adequately reflect the method of instruction.  The course content remains the same). 
  1. Delete the History coursee, HISTRY 434 "Social History of Japan"
(The originator of the course has retired and his replacement does not intend to teach it in the future).
  1. Changes in the following History majors and submajors:
    1. History BA/BS
    2. Public History
    3. History Minor
    4. Public History Minor
( Changes course numbering for History 460 to History 377; History 432 to History 385; History 433 to History 386; drops History 434; includes recently crosslisted courses in history curriculum, History 365 crosslisted with Women’s Studies 365; History 150 crosslisted with  RACEETH 150; and History 141 crosslisted with RACEETH 141).
