Meeting of March 3, 2005

    PRESENT:   Ellen Davis, Philip Johns,  Jonathan Kane, David Cartwright,  Steve Sahyun, Meg Waraczynski,  Hadley Klug (rep. Richard Salem), Lauren Smith, Tom Schweigert, Debra Heiber and Larry Schuetz ( Chair).
  1. The minutes of the February 17, 2005 meeting were approved as distributed.
  1. Announcements:  Lauren Smith announced that Mary Pinkerton is being recognized as a Women in Leadership honoree by the Women's Issues Committee on Tuesday, March 10, 2005  from 12:00 - 1:00 PM in the Hamilton Center and she invited the members of the committee to attend.
  1. Klug/Cartwright moved to approved new Sociology  course  SOCIOLGY 337, "Sociology of News and the Mass Media." After a friendly amendment was made to add the phrase "other courses will be on a longer rotation"  to the Budgetary Impact, the motion passed unanimously.  
  1. The meeting adjourned.
