Meeting of October 16, 2003

    PRESENT:  Philip Johns,  Jonathan Kane, David Cartwright, Paul Rybski, Anne Hamilton, Meg Waraczynski, Tim Reutebuch, Richard Salem, Zohreh Ghavamshahidi (Rep. Lauren Smith), Debra Heiber, Larry Schuetz (Chair), and DAC Reps, Pam Lordahl and Joanne Starich..
  1. The minutes of the October 2, 2003 meeting were approved as distributed.

  3. Announcements:  None

  5. Hogan/Rybski moved to approve the Internship Resolution drafted at the 10/03/03 UCC Meeting.  The motion was amended  to read " A minimum of 3 hours of "work" per week for 16 weeks per unit or equivalent based on the definition ........."  The motion passed unanimously.

  7.  Waraczynski/ Hogan moved to approve the Course revision, Description Change and Title Change for the Psychology course, PSYCH 740 FROM Assessment I: Early Childhood TO Academic Progress and Monitoring

  8. The committee requested that we move on to the next agenda item and then come back to this one.
     
  9. Therefore, Waraczynski/Hogan  moved to approve the Course revision, Description Change and Title Change for the Psychology course, PSYCH 745 FROM Assessment III: Intelligence and Achievement TO Assessment III:  Intellectual Functioning and Adaptive Behavior

  10. The motion passed unanimously.

    The committee then addressed the first Warazynski/Hogan motion (Item 4).  It was suggested that the changes to the course were major enough that it should possibly be considered a new course.  Johns/Hogan then moved to table the motion and send the proposal back to the department. This motion passed unanimously.
     

  11. Reutebuch/Rybski moved to approve the new Social Work  Course, SOCWORK 330 "Legal Issues in Social Work Practice."    The motion passed unanimously.
