Richard Telfer called the meeting to order at 2:16 p.m.
Phil Johns moved approval of the February 23, 2001 agenda. Tom Colwin seconded the motion, and the motion carried.
Marilyn Lavin moved, and Tom Colwin seconded, to approve the January 26, 2001 minutes. The motion carried.
Dick Telfer clarified how he would address the Mathematical and Computer Sciences proposals that were postponed at the last UCC meeting (item VII on the agenda). He stated that he would provide some background regarding the consultation that has taken place and then take motions regarding the proposals.
The university-wide course proposal for a change in requisites for course 900-120 U.S. Experience in a World Context was received and recorded on a Larry Schuetz/Phil Johns motion.
Tom Colwin moved approval of the Art Department's proposal for a new
course 110-222
Design Foundations for the Web. It was noted that the title in
the agenda was listed incorrectly as "Web Design Foundations") Sally
Vogl-Bauer seconded the motion, and the motion carried. Proposals
for changes in the following submajors: Art
Graphic Design Emphasis (BA), Art
History Emphasis (BA), Fine
Arts Emphasis (BFA), Fine
Arts Licensure Emphasis (BFA), Art
(General) Minor, Art
History Minor, and Art
Studio Emphasis within the Minor were also approved on a Colwin/Vogl-Bauer
motion.
