containing performance data established jointly by the candidate and the
candidate's department.
- The promotion portfolio
shall be organized according to the requirements of the university
promotion portfolio format and according to the Standard
Classification of Performance Data.
- The department may
impose requirements for the inclusion of evidence additional to the
requirements of the constituency and university.
- The promotion
portfolio shall be made available to the tenured faculty for review
during an interval of at least two weeks prior to the time at which the
department decision is made.
B. Portfolio Contents
To be Included by the Candidate

outline of professional activities printed in the standard university
format.
- A narrative statement
that describes how the submitted materials meet the University Principles

application is consistent with university, constituency, and
department criteria, standards, missions, and goals.

instructional methodologies and performance along with student evaluation
scores for all courses taught covering the three year interval prior to

STANDARD CLASSIFICATION OF
PERFORMANCE DATA
A. General Policy
As a general policy, performance data are
classified into the above evaluation categories and are used according to the
following standards:
- The standard
classification is used for all performance reviews, that is, for
reappointment, tenure and post tenure reviews, for salary and merit
determinations, and for promotion decisions.
- It is not expected
that all performance data items will be part of a performance portfolio
or review, but all listed subjects are eligible for inclusion.
- Departments and units
responsible for performance evaluations may add additional subjects of
evaluation to an evaluation category, but may not remove an item from the
standard classification.
- Departments and units
responsible for performance evaluations may not move items among categories
of the standard classification.
- The Faculty Senate is
responsible for the revisions of the standard classification.
