GRADUATE COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES


November 9, 2000
PRESENT: William Blankenau, Randy Busse, Will Drago, Edward Drexler, Dianne Jones, Rick Lombard, Dan McGuire, Brenda O'Beirne, Manuel Ossers,  David Porter, Patricia Shaw, Elizabeth Shadel, Bambi Statz, Alvaro Taveira, Anthony Truog, and Roy Weatherwax.
ABSENT: Rick Adams, Paul Adogamhe, Mohammad Ahmadi, *Marshall Anderson, Janet Barrett, *Scott Bradley, Wade Dazey, Robin Farrell, Steven Karges, Fredrik'a Lambert, Susan Michaud, Lanny Neider, Star Olderman, John Patterson, Jimmy Peltier, *Paul Rybski, *Wilfred Tremblay.

The meeting was called to order at 2:20 p.m. by Richard Lee. Tony Truog moved, and Will Drago seconded, to approve the minutes of the September 2000, meeting. The motion carried.

Information Only Items

Manuel Ossers moved to approve the "record and receive" item, Change in Grade Basis for a course from the Counselor Education Program: 499-793 Supervised Practicum. Tony Truog seconded the motion. The motion carried.

Business Items

Tony Truog made a motion to remove from the table 290-793 School Community Relations in a Diverse Society which was tabled at the September 2000 meeting. Manuel Ossers seconded the motion. Tony indicated that the consultation issues have been resolved. The motion carried.

Tony Truog then moved to approve the Change in School Business Management Major. David Porter seconded the motion, which subsequently carried.

Manuel Ossers moved, and Brenda O’Beirne seconded, to approve the new course from the Department of Psychology: 840-715 Research Methods and Program Assessment in School Psychology. Let it be noted for the record that this was an exceptionally well-prepared proposal. The motion was approved.

Randy Busse moved to approve the change in the School Psychology Degree. Brenda O’Beirne seconded the motion. The motion carried.

With no other business to attend to, the meeting was adjourned at 2:35 p.m. on a Lombard/Blankenau motion.
